Check GS25's Limited Pistachio Chapssaltteok: Launch Date, Pre-Orders, and the Label

It is the second product in a glutinous rice cake series made with Roromello, and it was reported to have pistachio cream inside. Size and allergen labeling are not in the reports.

When and where is the pistachio chapssaltteok sold?

GS Retail announced the product on October 5, and the Seoul Shinmun reported that offline sales begin on the 15th. It is sold in GS25 stores.

There is also a pre-order period before the regular launch. Pre-orders run from October 7 to 10 on the Uri Dongne GS app, limited to 20,000 units, and pre-ordered items can be picked up at designated stores from the 14th. When each store gets stock is not in the reports, so check at the store or in the app.

What is it, and how does it differ from the first one?

The first product was the Hanjeongseon yogurt chapssaltteok released in early last month. This one follows in the same series, and the Seoul Shinmun reported that it is filled with pistachio cream made from ground roasted pistachios.

GS Retail said the first product reached cumulative sales of 700,000 units and a sell-through rate of 100%. It also said the product ranked first in total GS25 quick-commerce sales over the past month.

Is there a preview event?

According to the Seoul Shinmun, a pop-up preview of the new product opens at noon on October 8 at the GS25 GS Gangnam store in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. A four-piece set with two yogurt chapssaltteok and two pistachio chapssaltteok is sold there, and buyers get a Hanjeongseon keycap clicker. The event has already passed, so treat it as background only.

Where can you check size and allergen labeling?

Neither report gave size, ingredients, allergens, or nutrition facts. The labeling printed on the package is the reference for these. The reports do confirm that it uses a nut ingredient, but you need to check the allergen labeling on the package yourself.

1. Look first at the ingredient list and allergen labeling on the back of the package.
2. Check the net weight and nutrition facts on the same side.
3. Because it is frozen, also see whether the package includes storage and thawing instructions.
